Where to find your MG paint code
Start with the driver's door jamb: most manufacturers print a label there that includes the paint code, often marked paint, color, ext or similar, sometimes next to a separate trim code. If it is not there, check the glovebox, the trunk area, and under the hood on the radiator support or strut tower.
If the label is missing or unreadable, a dealer parts department can decode your VIN to recover the original factory color. Read the code exactly as printed, and remember that some colors have several codes: the first one listed on this site is the main factory code, and the others are variants recorded for the same color.
Ordering touch-up paint for your MG
Order by paint code, never by color name alone: the same name can cover different formulations from year to year. For anything bigger than a small chip, have the shop test-spray the mixed paint on a card and compare it to your car in daylight, because sun exposure and age can shift how your existing paint looks compared to a fresh batch of the same code.
