This Privacy Policy explains how AutoColorCode (“we”, “us”, or “our”), the operator of autocolorcode.com (the “Site”), handles information when you visit the Site or contact us. We have tried to keep it short and clear. The Site is an informational reference: it has no user accounts, no sign-up, no comments, and no forms.
Information we collect
Information you send us. If you email us at [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use this only to read and respond to your message.
Information collected automatically. Like almost every website, our web server records basic technical information each time a page is requested. This typically includes your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the referring page, and your browser and device type (user agent). These server logs are created by our hosting infrastructure so that the Site can be delivered, kept secure, and troubleshot.
We do not ask you for, and the Site does not collect, your name, address, phone number, payment details, or vehicle identification number (VIN). The color code tool runs in your browser and shows you information; the makes, models and colors you look up are not sent to us or stored by us.
Analytics data. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the Site and which pages they use. Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the Site, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), and your browser, device and operating system. We use this in aggregate to improve the Site; we do not use it to identify you personally.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Site does not set cookies of its own and does not use advertising or social media tracking scripts. It does use Google Analytics (Google tag), which sets cookies and similar identifiers in your browser (for example cookies beginning with “_ga”) to recognize a returning visitor and measure visits. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Your browser will also keep ordinary cached copies of the Site’s files (such as pages, images, fonts, and stylesheets) so that pages load faster; this is standard browser behavior and can be cleared in your browser settings.
If we add advertising or other tracking technologies in the future, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
How we use information

We use a third-party cloud hosting provider (DigitalOcean) to run the Site’s servers and Cloudflare to deliver and protect the Site; server logs and request data are processed by them on our behalf. We use Google Analytics, a service of Google, to measure traffic; Google receives the analytics data described above and handles it under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of the Site, our users, or others. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
Links to other websites
The Site may link to third-party websites, such as manufacturers, dealers, or paint suppliers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their privacy policies before providing them with any information.
How long we keep information
Server logs are kept for a limited period and are then rotated or deleted as part of normal server maintenance. Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to handle your message and for a reasonable period afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them or we are required to keep them.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we handle, but no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California), you may have the right to ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it.
